The Walt Disney Studios is celebrating Thanksgiving with a feast for the eyes! The studio just released the first teaser for director Jon Favreau’s The Lion King!

Of all the Disney animated classics that have been reimagined in live-action (or photo-real CG), The Lion King may be the most anticipated. This is sure to be one of 2019’s biggest hits.

This trailer, appropriately enough, teases some of the iconic moments from the original film. The visual effects are beyond impressive. The technology that made 2016’s The Jungle Book look so incredible has evolved.

Disney has also released the first one-sheet from the film.

    idk man I just can’t get behind these remakes. It looks to be just a retelling of the animated film. Whats the point? Those movies are iconic classics and do not need to be redone. At least, not if they aren’t going to something different. It just feels like a rather blatant and uninspired cash in on people’s nostalgia. And its just SO easy to fall into it man…even I started getting feelings when Circle of Life played.Its practically impossible not to. But thats how they get you. They know what they’re doing.I know this seems negative and cynical but…I just don’t know man. Just rubs me wrong what they are doing here. If you want to remake classic Disney animated films, do something like Atlantis or Treasure Planet or something more obscure that could actually benefit a lot from being redone

        pretty much. All studios want money, but for some reason, when it comes to Disney, I feel people let their nostalgia get the better of them in situations like this

    The only awards that should be given out are to the CGI teams. We know the story and have heard the songs. Besides milking our nostalgia for cash, there’s no point to this movie.
