It’s still not clear what shape the project will take, but sources tell The Hollywood Reporter that Warner Bros. is in the early stages of developing a relaunch of The Matrix, the iconic 1999 sci-fi movie that is considered one of the most original films in cinematic history, with Zak Penn in talks to write a treatment.
Sources say there is potential interest in Michael B. Jordan to star, but much must be done before the project is ready to go.

Or maybe for original movies made by proper filmmakers trying to break out in the business through talent, creativity and great movies that can maybe start their own franchises, instead of just giving money to fucking blockbusters that do nothing besides saturate the market into oblivion.

Fuck new and original franchises, let’s just remake one of our most brilliant movies we’ve ever made, with a fucking hack of a writer doing it, and just call it a day. Oh, and do it PG-13 also. Why the fuck not? You’re so bound in destroying originality and quality (not WB-exclusive of course), so why not go the distance with it. When the fucking sequels, that were made by the same people who were the sole responsible authors for the original’s quality and creativity couldn’t even make the sequels work, you really think a Matrix remake will? Fucking soulless pricks. Really hope this doesn’t come to fruition.
