We’re less than 90 days away from the release of Thor: Love and Thunder, and Marvel Studios has finally released the first teaser trailer for the upcoming film.

The last time we saw Thor (Chris Hemsworth), he and Korg (Taika Waititi) had joined the Guardians of the Galaxy following the events of Avengers: Endgame. It looks like Love and Thunder picks off where Endgame left off, with Thor and Korg now part of the group. It doesn’t look like Thor quite fits in and is still butting heads with Star Lord (Chris Pratt). But beyond his journey as a member of the Guardians, it looks like Thor is also on a journey to find inner peace.

In a voice over, Hemsworth’s Thor talks about finding his own path and living in the moment.

“My superheroing day are over,” Thor says.

Of course, finding a new path isn’t always easy, especially when you’re the God of Thunder. The official synopsis reveals more about what to expect from the upcoming film:

The film finds Thor (Chris Hemsworth) on a journey unlike anything he’s ever faced – a quest for inner peace. But his retirement is interrupted by a galactic killer known as Gorr the God Butcher (Christian Bale), who seeks the extinction of the gods. To combat the threat, Thor enlists the help of King Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson), Korg (Taika Waititi) and ex-girlfriend Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), who – to Thor’s surprise – inexplicably wields his magical hammer, Mjolnir, as the Mighty Thor. Together, they embark upon a harrowing cosmic adventure to uncover the mystery of the God Butcher’s vengeance and stop him before it’s too late.

Thor: Love and Thunder is set to hit theaters on July 8, 2022. Marvel Studios also released a new poster for the film, which you can see below.
