Thor may have had a rough few days, losing his hammer and all, but in the end, it’s been a very good week. Thor: Ragnarok has now grossed over $500M worldwide and should sail well over $600M this weekend. Marvel Studios has reinvented the God of Thunder and audiences are into it.

Thor: Ragnarok is now the 12th consecutive Marvel Studios release to cross half a billion dollars at the global box office. It is an impressive streak that began with The Avengers ($1.52B) in May 2012 after Captain America: The First Avenger posted a solid, but unspectacular $370.6M in July 2011. Overall, 14 of Marvel Studios’ 17 feature films have grossed over $500M worldwide.
