Thor: Ragnarok has arrived and is becoming a massive hit at lightning speed. The new Marvel Studios release hauled in $14.5 million at the box office during Thursday night preview showings. That figure is the best ever opening night for a Marvel Studios movie released in November and keeps Thor: Ragnarok on pace for an opening weekend of over $100 million.
The third Thor film eclipsed the opening nights of Marvel Studios’ previous November releases, Thor: The Dark World ($7.1M) and Doctor Strange ($9.4M). It is a very strong start and by tonight, we should have a much better idea of just how high the opening weekend numbers could go.
