Thor: Ragnarok is now the third Marvel Studios film this year to cross $700 million at the worldwide box office. The movie currently sits at $738.1M, after posting $21.8M in its third weekend in North America. While Ragnarok could catch either of its two Marvel Cinematic Universe predecessors in 2017, the competition gets a little tougher from here on out.
Thor: Ragnarok has a great chance at becoming the third Marvel Studios movie to cross $800M worldwide in 2017, and then it’s a matter of which MCU offering winds up with the highest total. Spider-Man: Homecoming is currently the highest grossing superhero movie of the year at $880.1M while Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 stands in second place with $863.6M.
