So you’re saying because there is one funny line in this trailer, they’re trying to make it like a comedy? That’s nuts.
Historically, Thor has had the some of the best comedic lines because they come from his character, his perspective. After what looked like a horrible day (losing the hammer, getting captured, getting his hair chopped off), seeing Banner emerge truly lifted his spirit, and he expressed it the way only Thor can.

bitch please the entire musical ´choice isnt fitting for a apocalyptic movie. its the end of asgard after all. hell the movie´s title is even called ragnarok which is the direct translation for the apocalyptic event in the norse mythology that kills everyone and now they are choosing this music, the jokes and the entire color palette gets lifted to quirky and funny? It doesnt fit at all

Beyotch! It’s a teaser trailer. It’s announcing to audiences who have doubts about a Thor movie, after the lackluster second film, that there’s something different coming. It’s cashing in on the ’80s nostalgia trend in Guardians and the Stranger Things title treatment, all to pique the curiosity of general audiences. It’s stellar choice by the studio marketing team.
And… it’s two minutes long. Your line of thinking would have Luke’s hand being severed in the 1979 teaser trailer for The Empire Strikes Back.

No, but contextually here they are pretty important as Immigrant Song was selected because it’s one of the most popular rock songs of all time, one that birthed the Metal genre, and just happens to mention the Hammer of the Gods. So if you’re not clever enough to pick up on blatantly obvious references, maybe your opinions on sonic appropriateness should go ignored.

The annihilation part looked serious dude/ette. Im sure it wil be reflected in the movie. I havent seen the movie but I assume the destruction of Asgard wont be a barrel of laughs. But im just guessing. Aint seen the movie yet. Cause its not out.

A lot of friends from thor die if it will happen. he shouldnt be laughing later on in the arena/ entire movie but okay lets see first how the movie turns out. So far, judging by the trailer they missed the tone-
I totally see what your saying. I think it will have its serious moment’s. It has too. Were not seeing the clips in context. I have a good feeling about this one. Look at how un-funny thor dark world was and that movie was shit!! Im not saying comedy = brilliant movie but with the correct amount at the appropriate time it is a useful tool. Fingers crossed they get it right.

iam usually more for serious movies if done right but sometimes they just get boring if done wrong. Its easier to make a funny movie. Marvel is good at making funny child friendly movies (they are on a roll) but if you have a topic like the destruction of asgard, well i dont think it should be funny. lets see how they balance it out. I just dont expect marvel to have an impactful depressive moment. they never done that except in civil war and winter soldier but its another director here so…

Same problem I have with DC releasing so many Batverse related movies is that they will all have a samey feeling in tone and structure like Thor seems to have with Guardians and every other MCU movie but The Winter Soldier to date.
I’m a fan of Loki but I can’t even get excited for the character in this movie, plus the CGI looks crap with Hulk at the end. I don’t know when Thor is released hopefully they have it fixed up by then as I’m sure they will have with Cyborg by the time JL is released.
The best thing about the trailer in my opinion was Blanchett, I thought Goldblum looked like a ridclous Collector rip off.
I thought the he’s a friend from work line seemed really out of place for Thor as well.

The art design of it is also heavily similar though, especially in the shots where he’s getting a haircut. Jeff Goldbloom and The Collector look interchangeable.

I know the title is Ragnarok but my feeling is its based very loosely on the comic. Planet Hulk also. I dont think we can say the movie is comedy dog shit, but what do I know. I aint seen the movie. Cause its not out yet. Try not be hard on it yet bro/sis…enjoy the ride.

The one movie that’s supposed to lean on a more dark tone and we got this shit? A led zeppelin trailer over a colorful stupid jokefest. No thanks.

Thor with a frankly hillarious quip, before battling the “incredible” hulk equalling nerdgasm? Check.

Ladies and gentleman…..I have no idea why people be complaining. Sounds like alot of fun. Few trailers make me excited and smile, I mean really smile and the last few moments of this one made me grin like a fucking cheshire cat.
I am very excited about this movie now. Bring it.
Based on this trailer, this may as well be the first Thor movie that might be good and not boring like the first one or downright terriible like the second one.
