This fall’s highly anticipated superhero flick, Thor: Ragnarok, not only finds the return of the God of Thunder (Chris Hemsworth) and his brother Loki (Tom Hiddleston) but also features the debut of Valkyrie, a new warrior played by Creed’s Tessa Thompson.

Apparently, she’ll be more of a man than the actual male characters. I don’t care if she’s the best and most badass fighter on the team, but I find it ironic that Hollywood thinks the best way to make “strong female characters” is to make them masculine and deprive them of their feminine traits. In other words, they’re just men in female bodies. I actually can’t think of anything more condescending and insulting towards femininity. They are literally reinforcing the notion that masculinity means strong and femininity means weak… all in the name of girl power, like what?!
