Elba pauses for a beat, weighing whether he should say what he wants to say next. Then he says it. “I wish I was more present in the Marvel family. I like what I have, but I also wish that I had a bigger character in the Marvel universe.” Elba says that he’s never been approached to play anyone but Heimdall, including a role in the upcoming Black Panther film – or any of the studio’s other superhero properties. But he also says he doesn’t want to sound like he’s moaning about it, either. “It’s been great, but I kinda think I need a bit more. I want to be a superhero. I like the idea of that.”

Honestly, there are other Marvel people that he could play- I have been DYING for a new Blade, or maybe a version of Moon Knight? Both of those sound more like awesome Netflix shows than something in theaters… There are some other characters I am imagining, but… “FILM RIGHTS” (X-Men, Spider-man Universe, F4).
I am sure there are other side characters he could play, but in terms of a major role DC has one in play that wears a sh** ton of green? Black Lighting is too niche (and has a show out)…
You know what though… I just thought of this… Pull a Nick Fury for the DCU (DCEU, whatever I dunno) and instead of MagnumYellow as Deathstroke, put Elba in as Deathstroke. I think he would be effing legit as a black deathstroke. I would not mind that change for the movies. Yeah… that is my number one choice.
