While answering a question about how the story will continue in future movies, Holland said: “It’s going to be an exciting couple of movies. Yeah, there’ll be Spider-Man 2 and 3”.
When the AlloCiné pointed out that Holland just broke some big news (only Spider-Man: Homecoming 2 has been announced so far), Holland quickly apologized to Marvel. “Well, now you know. Sorry Marvel. Whoops!,” he said.

You can at least take some solace by thinking that in a parallel universe somewhere, Raimi’s Spider-Man 4 was released in 2010, to critical acclaim and was the second Super Hero movie to cross the billion mark after The Dark Knight…
And after a break from them (and total and complete trust from Sony, given Spider-Man 4’s critical and comercial success), Raimi made Reign, in February 2017, with an R rating, an older Tobey, and one of the best critical receptions for a Super Hero film, with Tobey later on being nominated for his performance…One can dream…
