Disney•Pixar has released the first teaser trailer for Toy Story 4. It begins happily enough with all of your familiar favorites like Woody and Buzz Lightyear reunited before a new character throws everything into chaos. His name is Forky and he feels like he doesn’t belong.
Forky, voiced by Tony Hale, is a spork who’s been turned into a toy by Bonnie. The world of Toy Story is built upon the idea that everything in the world has a purpose,” says director Josh Cooley in Disney’s press release. “A toy’s purpose is to be there for its child. But what about toys that are made out of other objects? Forky is a toy that Bonnie made out of a disposable spork, so he’s facing a crisis. He wants to fulfill his purpose as a spork, but now has a new toy purpose thrust upon him.”
Disney•Pixar also released a teaser poster and image from the film.
Toy Story 4 hits theaters June 21, 2019.
