Kyle Buchanan, Senior Editor at New York Magazine/Vulture, revealed that the embargo for Fantastic Four reviews won’t be lifted until “the day before the movie comes out” for online publications. The print embargo won’t lift until the day of release. Typically a review embargo is lifted a week or two before a movie’s release.
Steve Weintraub of Collider got a bit more specific, announcing that the review embargo lifts on Wednesday, August 5th at 6pm PST. Technically the movie opens on Friday, August 7th, but most movie theaters will be showing it early on Thursday night.
FYI, the FANTASTIC FOUR embargo lifts Wednesday, August 5th, 6pm PT.
