‘Venom’ takes on a SWAT team in new clip from the Sony Pictures film

I like the action and visual atmosphere a lot, but the music gets a little goofy.

Either way, it’s nice to see a focus on Venom being intense, dark, and badass. Interesting that they’re working so well as a team, too, after all the trailers made it seem like Eddie was just a puppet.

I’m hopeful we’ll get a brutal, sometimes lethal, protector of the innocent first and foremost, with a minimum amount of time spent on the embarrassing ‘eating people’ quips. I know it was in the comics, but it was a bit cringe there too. Never was the highlight of the character for me – his journey, relationships, intensity, and moral choices were.
