Although the first image from next year’s Terminator revival reveals nothing new about the plot of the movie, it does suggest that the franchise might have rediscovered its heart after far too many years in the wilderness. How did it manage that? Well, just look at what’s in the image — or, really, what isn’t.
The image, tweeted from the official Terminator account this morning, shows (left to right) Natalia Reyes, Mackenzie Davis and the returning Linda Hamilton looking ready for battle as they approach the viewer, battered and bruised, with flaming and smoking wreckage in the background. It’s been lauded for the first opportunity to see Hamilton’s Sarah Connor since 1991’s Terminator 2: Judgment Day, but as welcome as that is, there’s another, less obvious, reason to get excited about the movie because of this image.
There are no men in the photo.
What the new ‘Terminator’ image gets right about the franchise

Let me guess: female empowerment! Only women!
Lol, just read it and what do you know? “No men”. Fuck off…5 likes-
You know what pisses me off about this? Its that the image was clearly put out for articles like these, the image itself is actually terrible and pretty generic and pretty photo-shopped but hey it has 3 women instead of men. This isn’t an attack on the fact it has 3 women leads (Sarah is my 2nd favorite character behind T2’s T-800 after all) but the fact its clearly been made to get articles like this, they should have at least done a better image.
Of course the funny thing is though the Terminator franchise hasn’t been relevant since T3 (pushing it) and the only thing people care about in the films nowadays is seeing Arnie a man in his best role.

Exactly… Of course I want Linda’s Sarah to be there. It makes sense from a marketing standpoint, plus it’s just cool for us fans. But it’s clear what they were trying to do… And I’m sorry, but it’s just petty. Terminator will never be a thing with just women only. Not because they’re women, but because Arnold will always be the face of the franchise, end of story.

Exactly Arnie is Terminator and always will be, he’s the selling point and he’s the reason people will be watching, Sarah is just an awesome bonus.

This makes me not want to see the film.

Get ready for the same marketing strategy that Ghostblowers 2016 had. “If you don’t see this movie, you’re sexist!!!”

I agree. That last sentence is not necessary at all, and most likely summarizes the whole article.

Pretty generic and photo-shopped image honestly, if it wans’t for the fact it has 3 women on it and no men the image would be heavily criticized for the 2 things i said.

This is sickening. You claim to be for gender equality yet you delight at oppressing man. Filthy scumbags. Whoever wrote this is a sexist scumbag.
