Take for example one person at DeepFakes Club. They heard about Henry Cavill’s mustache problem in Justice League and decided to see what they could do. “I used a $500 computer bought off Craigslist and free deepfakes software to teach an AI how to digitally remove Henry Cavil’s mustache in a variety of situations,” the person said in a blog post.
All along the terrible planning that WB had when making this movie. It was doomed ever since BvS was getting hammered by critics and audiences, with JL having constant rewrites, backstage drama, etc.
That apparently disrupted Suicide Squad as well – this happens when your preparation has been inadequate. If you prep right, things would be going according to plan, but I guess they’re just “dogs chasing cars” lol.
Good thing WW never had that (albeit there were rumors that Patty Jenkins stomped on with a surprising success of a film), and haven’t heard any dramatic peeps coming out of Wan’s Aqua-camp either – he just looks to be having fun still with Yahya talking inside of a garbage can. Here’s to hope!!
It really goes back to Man of Steel. If you have the time I recommend the latest episode of Holy Batcast which features Forbes writer Mark Hughes. He talks about how there was just too much meddling right from the beginning.
But this is nothing new. WB screwed with Tim Burton, screwed with Joel Schumacher, screwed with Bryan Singer and would’ve screwed with Christopher Nolan had the Dark Knight Trilogy not exceeded their so-called expectations. And that’s just the projects that made it to the screen.
Joel Schumacher screwed himself lol He was a terrible pick to begin with, but they did screw Burton after he made 2 movies already. I frankly really enjoyed Batman and Batman Returns, but it was the dark stuff that prompted them to turn to Joel. They didn’t really meddle in those movies much, and Keaton really enjoyed his time with Burton.
They let Bryan Singer do his thing with Superman and it ended up being a wreck. He never really mentioned meddling either. They never meddled with Snyder’s MoS either – that was all Snyder’s vision.
Well, if you listened to the Holy Batcast you’d probably get a different picture of Man of Steel. Was it really all Snyder? Or was it the Batman Begins crew doing Superman Begins and when Christopher Nolan declined to direct they made Snyder the director-for-hire?
The problem with SR was it didn’t meet their expectations financially (critically it was fine) so they decided it was reboot time (I also heard they saddled him with the budgets of the failed Superman projects over the years, but I can’t confirm that). That’s what I met by meddling there, a little misleading on my part.
But to say Schumacher burned himself is just false. It’s on record, it’s on the B&R special features, it’s Batman lore, it’s everywhere. Execs went in there with their bulls*** and changed things to maximize merchandise sales. In your defense, Schumacher let them (and shouldn’t have), but to say WB executives didn’t mess with Batman & Robin is a lie.
We may disagree on some parts, but wholefully you are right. The meddling is so bad because they want to match their movies up with merchandising and it does suck.
The Timmverse was the closest thing I got to what I wanted out of the DC Universe.

Is there something wrong with that?
You know what I say to Feigebot trolls who brag about having a super successful shared universe?
“That’s great. DC had one 20 years ago. Thanks for joining the party.”
Guess that makes me a Timmbot.

Agreed, the stache issue was just the giant cherry on top of crap gone wrong for this movie
