Eisenberg had originally met with Zack Snyder about a different role in the movie. Snyder said he had been meeting with “the usual suspects that you’d imagine for Lex”… meaning someone older. Warner Bros. was interested in Joaquin Phoenix, for example. But once Eisenberg was cast as Luthor, screenwriter Chris Terrio tweaked the script to better suit a younger version of the character.

I was sold after the previous interview with Jesse where he described his Lex as a “real scary person”. Exactly what we need!

I agree, but Jesse will give us something really special I belive. I was kinda wishing for Benedict Cumberbath, he can play really scary chsracters. But Im glad he went to the MCU as Dr. Strange! That is a sick role for him!
