After all the hype and rave reviews, Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War fell short to Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice on opening night. Marvel’s latest pulled in $25 million last night, which is almost $3 million shy of Batman v Superman’s $27.7 million Thursday debut.
That’s hilarious! Love it! Especially with all the over the top criticism of BvS and than the over the top nut hugging of the over crowded, forced and convoluted Civil War.
Optimus Prime
What ? on opening night DC Trinity > Marvel All Star Avengers + (Secondary + Tertiary) heroes

Its really not a big deal. You have to take into accounts so many other factors its not even funny. The release date, Civil War was released around the time colleges are starting to get out and high school seniors start to graduate. Its a busy time and most people will go as soon as they’re free. I haven’t seen the movie yet and will definitely see the movie in a few weeks when things settle down. BvS came out during March when people might have been more free. There is a reason movie studios plan release dates so far in advance. Also Civil War was released internationally over a month ago and has been getting released in countries over the course of the month. Most people internationally have already seen it and I guarantee lots of people in the U.S. have seen it illegally and don’t need to rush to see it on premiere day. I have only heard great things about this movie. Some people claim it to be the best Marvel movie ever or up there with Winter Soldier. It will do much better than BvS.
Im not saying BvS was bad. I actually really liked it and agree some of the criticism behind it is over the top and not the actors fault but the opening day revenue numbers don’t mean a thing
