Zimmer, who wrote the music for Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight Trilogy, Man of Steel, and Batman v Superman, claimed he was done with superhero movies in 2016. Since then, he’s hinted that he would come back if someone had a really great idea, and it sounds Wonder Woman 1984 was it.

He said he struggled with the BvS score because he couldn’t “feel” the characters in the movie. He stated he could feel and see the different sides to Bruce Wayne in TDKT. He said when Ben Affleck showed up, he couldn’t understand what he was feeling. Now that Wonder Woman has been fleshed out and had good writers on the project, why wouldn’t he score a movie with a charater that has layers?
