James Gunn calls ‘Guardians of the Galaxy 2’ “a more emotional movie” (video)

While covering the 41st Annual Saturn Awards in Burbank, we got a chance to talk to director James Gunn about his current and upcoming projects, including The Belko Experiment and Guardians of the Galaxy 2. Gunn, who received the award for Best Film Director, talked briefly about The Belko Experiment, calling the cast “the best ensemble he’s ever seen in his life.” Guardians fans might take issue with that statement, but rest assured Gunn also teased a bit about the Marvel sequel. He promises a movie that is bigger yet smaller because it’s more emotional and takes a more intense focus. We should also expect to “learn a lot about fathers” which should please comicbook fans. Gunn also teased the appearance of an Awesome Mix Vol. 2 in the sequel and revealed his favorite films of the year.
