James Gunn is returning to superhero-based movies to direct The Suicide Squad for Warner Bros. After directing two hits films for Marvel Studios and then being fired from a third over old, offensive tweets, Gunn was in-demand for every major studio outside of Disney.
Warner Bros. was quick to pursue Gunn after all pending matters with The Mouse were settled. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Gunn had his pick of several DC projects.
