With production currently underway on X-Men: Dark Phoenix in Montreal, actress Jessica Chastain has finally confirmed her involvement in the film in a fun new Instagram post, after previously being rumored for the role several months ago. And while Chastain did not reveal/confirm who she’ll be playing in Dark Phoenix, she did confirm that she’ll be playing at least one of the movie’s villains, by teasing that co-star, James McAvoy (Charles Xavier/Professor X) better be prepared to “cry” when she arrives on set. Check out the confirmation for yourself down below:

A villain in Dark Phoenix.. … Dark Phoenix. I think they may have missed what this story entails. o.0

Yes, I know it says “one of”, you miss my point (but then they say Majestrix Lilandra is a villain, so again: Grasp of story/characters seems to have gone out the window).

I’m fine as long as they don’t try to redo X3.

In the comics Lilandra was antagonistic towards Jean Grey and the Phoenix Force inside of her. I can absolutely see her and the Shi’Ar Imperial Guard being the main antagonist in this story

Maybe it’s Cassandra Nova? I know she’s not involved in the comics story but that could be cool
