Patty Jenkins Says Chris Pine’s Return “Makes Perfect Sense” in ‘Wonder Woman 1984’

Wonder Woman was a runaway smash for Warner Bros. and DC Films. It remains the DCEU’s domestic box office champ. Warner Bros. has director Patty Jenkins and star Gal Gadot to thank for that, but also Chris Pine. His work as Steve Trevor opposite Gadot’s Diana was a key component of the film’s appeal.

The only problem, it seemed, was that Trevor would not get to return for a sequel on account of the whole being dead thing. Death in superhero stories, however, isn’t the prohibitive challenge it is in most other stories and Trevor is indeed back in Wonder Woman1984, just like the director planned all along.
