It’s been quite the wrap day for Star Wars. Earlier today, director J.J. Abrams announced the completion of principal photography on Star Wars: Episode IX. This evening, crew members on the Disney+ series The Mandalorian are saying that the first season has wrapped.
You read that correctly. They’re calling it the first season, implying that a second season could be in the cards. That makes sense considering that The Mandalorian has not been billed as or reported to be a limited series, as has been the case for Marvel Studios’ projects on Disney+. The Mandalorian will continue, provided it is successful.
We are not going to embed any of the social media posts from crew members here. Some of them have already been deleting their posts because they probably weren’t supposed to say anything in the first place.
Yes, they are responsible for their own adherence to whatever NDAs they signed, but we’d rather not highlight anyone who may be sharing more than they should.
The Mandalorian is expected to be available on Disney+ later this year. We will probably see the first footage from the series during Star Wars Celebration Chicago in April.
