According to Deadline, Warner Bros. has been thinking about taking Superman in a completely different direction for some time now. They say that the studio is considering casting Black Panther star Michael B. Jordan as the Man of Steel for their eventual reboot.
Wow. No. Superman isnt black, Batman aint Chinese, Captain America isnt from Brasil. Cmon on man. YES to more ethnic diversity in movies, but why take Superman, why not Black lightning or make up great characters that could be even stronger, cooler, whatever you want than Superman.

I don’t think a Bruce Wayne who isn’t white would ever work, the idea of being born into a historically wealthy family doesn’t work as well with a character who isn’t white. A black Captain America would actually be interesting, but not Sam Wilson. With the Tuskegee experiments being public knowledge now. As for bringing black superheroes into the fore, we have to understand DC don’t really have any that are beyond c-list, Black Lightening won’t draw in an audience, especially considering the state of the DCEU.

I mean first Cavill is out and than this, within 24 hours. Are the execs at WB doing high fives right now yelling « nailed it! »??

I’d say it’s an inspired move, Michael B. Jordan is a great actor. But DC doesn’t know what it’s doing, no actors should be looking to jump to DC. And this is coming from someone who defends MOS and BVS. SS was fine for what it was, WW was great and I’m looking forward to Fish-Man and Boy-Man, but it’s with my breath held. I think they had the right actors for JL, but Affleck lost his Bat-Man touch from BVS (I think it was the best solo movie performance for both Bruce and Bats even though Bale had the lasting factor and Keaton was great as well) DC just has a hard time putting a whole movie together and making it greater than the sum of its parts.

Given his background I’d rather see him as a ground and pound character. Nightwing, Red Hood, Azrael would be good choices IMO. I think the villain turned hero would be great because of how well he played Killmonger. I like his roles when he is the tough guy you don’t want to mess with.
Fuck this. I dont want Val Zod aint nobody ever talked about him before yesterday. I like all fans just want to see the characters i grew up on ACCURATELY represented god damn it WB just sell DC
