Marvel Studios could have an even bigger year, though, in 2018.
Marvel Studios will again release three films, including the massive Avengers: Infinity War. This year, however, is about much more than the box office. This is a special, sentimental year as 2018 marks the tenth anniversary of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It all began with Iron Man and an “Avenger Initiative” on May 2, 2008 and has since grown into the highest grossing movie franchise in history, spanning 17 films to date, increasing to 20 this year with another trio on the way in 2019.
There will be plenty of stories generated by, or about Marvel Studios this year. Undoubtedly there will be stories that we can’t see coming, but it doesn’t take a crystal ball to see some of the major Marvel news coming in the near future.
